About 1.5° Dao

We find people with various expertise in climate change and sustainability from different parts of the world. Together, we unite to leverage our experience and expertise and look at the problem of climate emergency and understand how this community can influence it in the most effective way. What we do? We run regular meetings to: • Discuss topics with experts • Share recommendations on the most relevant literature • Network within a community of like-minded people • Discover practical tips (we even offer the community members to test their knowledge!) • Explore educational courses and connect with DAO’s partners What is a DAO? People joining the community become the co-owners of the 1.5°C DAO. A DAO (Decentralised Autonomous Organisation) is an online community, usually based in different countries, that jointly controls a cryptocurrency wallet to pursue common goals. It is an emerging form of an organisation with no central governing body and whose members share a common goal to act in the entity’s best interest. Popularised through cryptocurrency enthusiasts and blockchain technology, DAOs are used to make decisions in a bottom-up management approach. How the community operates The community builds settings where trust and reciprocity can emerge, grow, and be sustained over time. The community members get tokens as digital assets that empower active involvement in the community’s activities and give voting power to their owners. Also, every member can issue a proposal they want the DAO to consider. It is voted for in Discord, and changes take place if successful.
