106.9 the Light is dedicated to encouraging families with positive music and solid, relevant Bible teaching. Our music features the latest songs from artists such as Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns, Jeremy Camp and Mercy Me as well as the some of the most popular songs of the last few years. Our music programming is hosted by local personalities who are passionate about sharing the Good News of the Gospel. Our personalities understand the lifestyle of today's radio listener and tailor their programs accordingly. 106.9 The Light's teaching programs feature commentary and insight from today's leading speakers: Chip Ingram, Greg Laurie and Dr. David Jeremiah, just to name a few. Thanks to a 42,000 square-mile coverage area - the 12th largest FM coverage area in America, according to Duncan Radio Reports - 106.9 The Light blankets four Arbitron Radio Metros: Charlotte , Greenville-Spartanburg, Johnson City-Bristol, and Asheville . That's over 5 million potential listeners! 106.9 The Light is constantly seeking ways to reach out to listeners with fun, family-oriented events. We also encourage our listeners to partner with us in various mission projects. Within the past year, our listeners donated over 650 pairs of shoes to orphans in China, collected $18,419 for the Brazilian "My Hope" project of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, sponsored 143 children for elementary education through Christian schools in Beirut, Lebanon, collected $139,449 to reach 12 million people in areas of Russia through a radio project with Trans World Radio and collected 6,200 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.
