1912 Winemakers is a family-owned business defined by exemplary ethics and values, and genuine devotion for our vineyards, combining tradition with a passion in the creation of unique wines. Our commitment and continuous concern is the wine quality produced in our estates. We strive, through constant innovation, to exceed the expectations of our diversified array of clients. The founders of 1912 Winemakers, António Monteiro and Edmar Monteiro, are two brothers born in the Douro region known for its excellence in wine classification. From a tender age both helped their father around the property, "Quinta de São Bernardo", situated on the river bank of the Douro, dated 1912, whose centenarian vines resulted in a high quality wines produced by the company today. These wines come from a careful selection of grapes and a thoughtful production process. "Quinta da Água" was later acquired in order to expand our wine production, always taking into account the same quality standards. 1912 Winemakers was born from a mixture of passion and caring traditions.
