1st Choice Employment Agency provides exceptional employment services by matching skills and abilities of participants with the needs of local employers. * Services are CARF-accredited * Highly trained and qualified staff * Extensive employer support network * Proven track record of success * Services are offered in the following counties: Audrain, Callaway, Camden, Cole, Osage, Miller, Moniteau and Morgan Participants starting services should: - Have a disability and/or other barriers that interferes with obtaining competitive employment - Be at least 16 year of age - Have one or more of the following functional limitations: unemployed, under-employed, limited vocational skills, poor job retention, lack of adequate personal, social and/or vocational skills - Be independent in personal car, or have arrangements for a personal care attendant - Be able to communicate - Have reliable transportation - Have current medical and/or psychological examination, as necessary - Be able to provide a valid government-issued ID or driver's license 1st Choice offers two programs: Employment Services: 1st Choice assists individuals with the tools and skills for a successful job search. Individual career counseling facilitates the best match of interests, skills and experiences with an employer's needs. After employment is obtained, 1st Choice provides follow-up support for a full year to maximize the likelihood of success in the job. Supported Employment: 1st Choice assists individuals who have limited or no work experience to identify appropriate job goals through the Discovery & Exploration process. After a job goal is identified, 1st Choice staff will assist in securing employment and will provide on-site job coaching until individual is able to work successfully on their own. At that time, 1st Choice provides follow-up support for a full year to maximize the likelihood of long-term job retention.
