About 2009 Senior Games
This was the largest Olympic-affiliated event ever to come to the Bay Area. From the celebration of athletes, the solar-powered torch and relay, sustainability initiatives, the completion of 800 events/23 sports, with 157 records broken, inspiration, and pure enjoyment, August 2009 in the San Francisco Bay Area is a time to proudly remember. Our signature song was introduced, "Long Live The Challenge." The organization looks forward to growing the Senior Games movement in California, being honored to host the CA State Championships in Northern California, producing the Bay Area Senior Games in the spring of 2011 and 2012.
