2BBM Directors Cambell Ryan & Jason Freddi have each over 20 years experience in the building sector in many different roles, chiefly as licensed builders. Over time we gained contracts with Owners Corporations (OC) and Managers (OCM) thereof, many of whom we found were arranging if not indeed carrying out building works with unlicensed trades, which is strictly against the law as tabled in the Building Act 1993. This means that building work arranged by your OC Manager is not guaranteed and not insurable. We estimate this is up to $300 million a year of built value in Victoria that is illegally being committed by OC Managers and their agents...that's a large investment for no return. We also found systemic failures in the way OC Strata Managers operate. They are often poor communicators, fail to establish personal relations with their clients and have very limited knowledge of the buildings they manage. In consequence, the community holds negative and resentful attitudes towards the OC sector where the dominant business model continues to manage buildings using unqualified people.
