At 2Blades, we empower farmers with better seeds. Farmers struggle to meet the nutrition needs for the world's 8 billion people today, and 2 billion more people are expected in the next 15 years. Improved production is needed - while conserving natural resources and in the face of climate changes, trade issues, and a war on science. We blend a core competence in molecular plant sciences and a product mindset into a unique non-profit, dual-market impact model. We aim to keep crops healthy by building resilience into the seed itself - high technology in a low tech package - that any farmer anywhere can use. 2Blades plays a critical catalytic role in the Agri-food Innovation Chain. We advance new plant breeding innovations in significant crops for commercial and smallholder agriculture, and we lower barriers for their uptake and benefits. We train scientists from around the world to build the urgently needed capacity for keeping pace with food-system needs. By producing stronger seeds and getting them into the hands of farmers all over the world, we help to reduce food losses, use of crop protection chemicals, and use of natural resources of land and water.
