3 times as many black women die from complications of pregnancy or childbirth than white women in the United States. That fact should make everyone reading that statistic uncomfortable enough to want to do something about it, and you can. Obviously, vulnerable pregnant women need all of us to do something about keeping them alive during one of the most natural and rewarding processes of life. 3 Times As Many, Inc. took that unconscionable statistic as a namesake to keep the maternal mortality disparity rate, by race on the hearts and minds of all society. As a 501(c)(3), tax exempt, non profit organization we exist to support and provide services to vulnerable women and their families before, during and after pregnancy. We focus on helping women develop successful relationships with their health care professionals. Recent research has disclosed the necessity for relating well to one's health care practitioners for health and well-being. We also offer for example, adult centered education on healthy meal planning, managing pre-existing or pregnancy related disorders, and keeping the fire going in your loving relationships during pregnancy.
