About 4MBS Classic FM
One of Australia's premier community radio stations, 4MBS Classic FM has received many awards for contributions to broadcasting in Australia and the promotion of young and emerging artists and musicians through many school, university and community based activities. 4MBS Classic FM was named Australia's Radio Station of the Year at the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia's 2004 Awards. 4MBS has a small number of paid staff and about 300 volunteers covering all aspects of the station's operation. As well as broadcasting 24 hours a day every day of the year, the station presents a series of events each year promoting classical music, including the annual 4MBS Festival of Classics - Australia's largest classical music festival. 4MBS is supported by annual subscriptions, donations and bequests, sponsors and a range of fundraising activities.
