About 59 Studio
59, a Journey studio, conceives, directs, designs and delivers ambitious, large-scale story-driven artworks, stage shows, events and immersive experiences, from Vogue’s “Inventing the Runway” immersive show for Lightroom London, to Sting’s sold-out “My Songs” residency in Las Vegas, and a further 25 years of pioneering collaboration with performers and musicians from Nitin Sawhney, Anne Nikitin and David Bowie to visual artists such as David Hockney. Based in New York and London, we started by revolutionising the live theatre experience for modern audiences, working at the UK’s National Theatre and the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and more recently on genre-defining shows such as “Stranger Things: The First Shadow,” which won a Tony for 59's design work in June 2025. We’ve also collaborated on industry-leading architectural design projects, including a pavilion for the World Expo 2025 in Osaka for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (with Foster + Partners). 59 was a founding partner of Lightroom, a world-leading venue in London that creates unique, IP-led immersive storytelling experiences, including “The Moonwalkers: A Journey with Tom Hanks.” 59 is a founding studio of Journey, the global design and innovation agency shaping the future through multidimensional experiences (MDX) that connect people, brands, and culture.
