About 80/20 Records

80/20 Records is an independent record label and management company. The concept of 80/20 is based on the Pareto principle, which is found everywhere! For an example, usually 20% of fans makes 80% of what an artist makes, 20% of your efforts create 80% of your results, and so on. This blew our minds so we decided to run with it, not just as a philosophy of how we run things, but also how we can create a company in which we give back as much as possible to our artists and our community. The record label aspect of 80/20 is involved with music releases such as albums or singles as well as music videos. This can include distribution, strategy, promotion, placement, manufacturing, fulfillment, and so on. And yes, it means we offer 80% royalties to artists. The management aspect of 80/20 is involved with anything supporting music releases. This can include tour planning, negotiations, endorsements, overall strategy, seeking opportunities, etc. Management is more involved with an artist’s career in providing direction as well as support and compliments with any other members of their team. Coaching is designed for artists who need help figuring out a game plan on what to do next and someone they can count on.
