The 81st RD, headquartered at Fort Jackson, S.C., is a two-star command responsible for maximizing Army Reserve Soldier, Equipment, and Facility readiness throughout nine Southeastern states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Our area of responsibility includes more than 50,000 Army Reserve Soldiers and more than 250 Army Reserve Facilities and maintenance shops. Bearers of the “Wildcat” patch, the first official patch of the U.S. Army, the Wildcats of the 81st Readiness Division continue to play a vital role in the combat readiness of the U.S. Army.
