About A.C.E. - Associates in Cultural Exchange
"Making the World Your Community" Associates in Cultural Exchange (A.C.E.), founded as American Cultural Exchange, was a not-for-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation headquartered in Seattle, Washington, and established in 1973. Since its founding, Associates in Cultural Exchange worked to make the world your community by helping people and organizations around the world create new connections and build interpersonal networks with those of other language and cultural backgrounds. Host campuses for A.C.E.'s college preparatory intensive English programs (A.C.E. Language Institutes) most recently included Montana State University, Seattle Pacific University, and Saint Francis University (PA). Over its history, A.C.E. Language Institutes operated in 7 U.S. states and overseas in Japan, Australia and Korea. The A.C.E. World Language & Culture Ambassadors program (WLCA) offered engaging foreign language and culture classes to elementary and middle school students. Through interactive classes, our students gained the preparation they needed to be globally successful while having fun. Among a variety of other services, A.C.E. offered tailored technical training programs via the Training & Development Institute with USAID-funded participant training in leadership and sustainability. In late 2016 the A.C.E. Board of Directors deemed it necessary to close the organization after 43 years of operation. Two of the remaining A.C.E. Language Institutes were acquired by INTERLINK International Institutes which continues to work with many of A.C.E.'s global partners. Over the course of A.C.E.'s history tens of thousands of students and clients from all over the world benefited from A.C.E.'s cross cultural educational programs. In them and in A.C.E.'s former staff who numbered in the thousands, A.C.E.'s legacy of service lives on.
