A.C.T.4life is a coalition to create opportunities for artistic expression and empowerment WHAT: • Established fall 2008, A.C.T.4life was founded to address the lack of readily accessible and professional resources available to Atlanta-area actors and filmmakers for the advancement of their careers. Our main objective is to serve as a resource portal for the film and television community by offering programs that will initiate new alliances and cultivate long-established relationships; develop and prepare talent for the national market place and create new avenues for growth in the state of Georgia. WHO: • A4l is the brainchild of Roman James, Founder and Chief Creative Officer, and Maria Howell, Founder and Community Outreach/Resource Director, two talented artists in their own right. These two women have combined 25-plus years of experience in the biz, both nationally and internationally, in front of and behind the camera. As a result, A.C.T.4life is committed to developing its peers into nationally competitive, competent and knowledgeable actors, writers, directors, producers and technicians. WHERE: • A.C.T.4life is the only organization of its kind in Atlanta that helps to bridge the divide between the actor and the filmmaker, the student and the professional, and/or the novice and the veteran. A4l proposes to meet the needs of these divergent, yet artistically similar communities by leading the charge to designate Hollywood South (Atlanta) the second-foremost leader in the country in film and television production capability.
