About A Child's Notebook

Talent exists in every person, in every community. The opportunity to realize that talent, however, is not equally available. At A Child’s Notebook (ACN), we believe education is the key lever to unlocking human potential, breaking the cycle of poverty, reducing inequality, and creating a thriving future for all. A Child’s Notebook focuses on access to quality education that prepares students for secondary school and beyond. In many regions, secondary school enrollment rates remain low, and dropout rates are high. These challenges are driven by a complex interplay of factors, including financial constraints and inadequate primary education. For those who do graduate secondary school, the quality of education and learning outcomes often fail to equip them with the skills needed to succeed in higher education or secure meaningful employment. As a result, millions of young people are unable to realize their full potential, perpetuating cycles of poverty, inequality, and economic stagnation. Since 2018, A Child’s Notebook has supported students in Southeast Asia, with a focus on Laos, who face educational barriers due to poverty, geographic isolation, and ethnic marginalization. Our focus is on partnering with communities who often lack access to funding, and who receive limited attention and resources from other NGOs.
