About A Collective

We’re an innovative autistic-led social enterprise in Croydon. We believe that autistic people need much better work and social opportunities that are designed, built and run by us for us. We create, collaborate on, and curate tailored work, training and social opportunities for autistic people across South London. We set our priorities via specialist advisory groups who represent the diversity and intersectionality of our community. We also work with private, public and third sector organisations who support autistic people in South London. Our goal is to become the ‘go-to’ provider of innovative, entrepreneurial services that are ethical and mutually beneficial. We are ambitious and hope to lead long-term change by demonstrating ways of working that create tangible, replicable success; not by promoting yet more awareness. WHAT WE DO We design and run projects and services that support autistic individuals, and the community as a whole, in fulfilling their potential: - increasing independence and autonomy, - increasing community visibility, participation and inclusion, - and improving economic, health and longevity outcomes. OUR APPROACH We develop and run right-sized, autistic-led and autistic-majority environments that are safe, self-directed and self-determined to maximise accessibility, inclusion and ongoing sustainability. Under our “By Us For Us” ethos, we engage directly with our service users as service designers and experts, working in a commercially-focussed and intrapreneurial way to develop our working plans. OUR PRIORITIES Our primary focus is supporting autistic people without additional intellectual disability – both pre- and post-diagnosis, including those who are self-diagnosed – who are currently underserved. Our project priorities and longer term strategy are guided by our specialist advisory groups, in tandem with our external funders and commercial partners.
