About A&D Educational Association

A non-profit organization providing a variety of educational programs and services, and dedicated to closing the ever-increasing gap in education by providing educational these services to disadvantaged youth. Our story began with A&D Tutoring, our parent organization, where we focused on addressing the challenges students were facing in Edmonton. Teachers and students deal with overcapacity classrooms, not enough time for individualized attention, mental health challenges, and the challenges that come with every day personal life. With all these challenges, how are students expected to get the appropriate support? Unfortunately, our educational systems sometimes cannot support all students to ensure they all have the appropriate opportunities. The challenges students face not only affects themselves, but it puts pressure on their parents and teachers. We also understand that the academic stance of the child is of crucial importance and can have effects on the student’s mental and physical well-being. More than just tutoring. Our philosophy to help people learn is more than just assisting them on an educational front. Because of the experience we have with tutoring, we're experts at developing relationships with our students to then guide and become mentors in their lives as we begin to understand what they are going through. Whether it be navigating their academic future or supporting them in their personal lives as they face challenges with relationships, financial struggles, or even bullying. Like a mentor or parent, our tutors share our guidance and mentorship to help them navigate the world and the goals they have come to us with.
