About A Gathering Moment

A Gathering Moment creates spaces where people come together — to speak, to listen, to create, and to simply be present with one another. We host in-person events that invite connection, imagination, and reflection, offering an antidote to the noise and pace of modern digital life. At the heart of what we do is the belief that something vital happens when we gather with intention. When we meet others in an atmosphere of openness and care, we experience a kind of quiet renewal — a deepening of presence that leaves us feeling more connected, more grounded. This is what the sociologist Hartmut Rosa calls social energy: the life-giving force we draw from meaningful encounters. We don't just talk or create — we recharge. Equally important to us is the spirit of ichi-go ichi-e, a Japanese phrase that means “one time, one meeting.” It reminds us that every gathering is singular and unrepeatable — even if we meet again, it will never be in quite the same way. That awareness brings a certain softness, an appreciation for the moment we’re in, and the people we’re with. Together, these ideas shape our mission: To create gatherings that nourish, re-energize, and honor the preciousness of shared time.
