About A Reaching Hand

A Reaching Hand is a non-profit organization based in South Africa working to end poverty through nutrition, education, and employment. We focus on empowering our beneficiaries to become self-sufficient and live independently. We spend donations wisely, and we are proud to be a lean and efficient organization able to achieve big things with little. We are committed to building strong relationships with our donors because we appreciate their support and want them to feel connected to our work. We place a particular emphasis on empowering people who are motivated to help their communities. Our five projects were started by women who saw a need in their communities. We partnered with them in a long-term partnership, which has allowed us to run successful programs. Our educational programs are designed to meet the needs of all ages, from infants to adults. We operate three Daycare Centres, taking care of more than 150 children, and offer weekend Art Therapy classes for around 50 children. In addition, we financially support students with academic ability and potential and provide hands-on support in their lives, as well as the lives of their families. Our educational programs ensure healthy nutrition for children and caregivers. Our soup kitchen feeds over 3000 patients per month, visiting the day clinic for medication. We offer stable and nutritious food, including fresh fruit throughout the day. Most of the vegetables come straight from our garden.
