About AA29 art project

AA29 takes its name from the small asteroid 2002 AA29 co-orbiting with the Earth which is thought to have formed from the collision between the Earth and Theia, a planet which, according to the giant impact theory, would have collided with the Earth, giving rise then to the moon. Also aA29 was born from the clash-encounter with various entities of the contemporary art world from which it draws, while following its own orbit and observing reality from new and different angles. It is divided into two galleries in Milan and Caserta: multifunctional spaces, created to promote different forms of experimentation with exhibitions, site-specific projects and residences. It was born with a socio-political orientation, to extend its range of action to a wider field of research, which explores different possibilities of dialogue and interaction with the other, with the intention of deconstructing some foundations of the dominant thought. AA29 supports research sensitive to ecological and environmental issues, which generate new possibilities for encounter and connection between living beings. The artists with whom we collaborate investigate the liminal and dichotomous conditions between the human being and the animal, the natural and the artificial, the sacred and the profane, the inhabited and the uninhabited and develop projects in which, with actions participatory, the public is involved, for the affirmation of a collective conscience that imagines alternative scenarios for the future.
