About Aakjaer Furniture

Møbelintarsia has been reestablished under the name Intarsia Furniture. Møbelintarsia was founded in 1948 by carpenter and furniture designer Jørgen Aakjær Jørgensen and his wife Lis Aakjær Jørgensen. Together, they dedicated their lives to Møbelintarsia, which quickly grew into a thriving family business. Today, Intarsia Furniture is founded by Nanna Aakjær Svendsen, granddaughter of Jørgen Aakjær. Intarsia Furniture relaunches and produces some of the most popular and iconic furniture pieces from the Møbelintarsia era. Thus, the vision is to carry forward the legacy of the Danish Golden Age – combined with contemporary trends and traditions. The collection currently consists of four different models, but Jørgen Aakjær's life's work extends far beyond this. In fact, we continue to discover new models and designs by him, which we plan to relaunch in the near future.
