About AATA: Brighter Future. Safer World.
The American Advanced Technical Academy (AATA) is a Los Angeles-based 501c3 nonprofit founded in February 2015. AATA’s mission is to empower Los Angeles women and men living below the poverty line and veterans with poor job prospects through tuition free Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) training. After completing AATA’s Non-Destructive Testing Technologies Certificate Program students are immediately qualified for meaningful, well-compensated, and in-demand careers at no cost to them or their employers, thus strengthening families, communities, and industries throughout the region. The AATA Certificate Program introduces students to NDT Math and Advanced Non-Destructive Testing and Inspection disciplines: Advanced Radiographic Testing (RT) including Digital and Computed Radiography, Advanced Ultrasonic Testing (UT) including Phased Array and advanced phased array on Weld Inspection. In addition, the curriculum includes Radiation Safety (Rad Safe) Penetrant (PT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT). It discusses the benefits and limitations of each method as well as an overview of the various discontinuities that may be encountered. The AATA would like to thank its corporate sponsors who have provided the support needed at this pivotal part of AATA's history, allowing us to transition from concept to a fully certified, accredited program that will empower members of our community to obtain specialized training to prepare them for a career in a high-tech, high demand engineering sector.
