تأسست مؤسسة عبد الحميد شومان عام 1978، بمبادرة غير ربحية من قبل البنك العربي عبر تخصيص جزء من أرباحه السنوية لإنشائها، إيمانًا منه بأهمية بذل الجهد في بناء الأرضية للتقدم العربي، من خلال دعم الاقتصاد الوطني بالتوازي مع الاعتناء الجاد بتشجيع البحث العلمي والدراسات الإنسانية والتنوير الثقافي والابتكار، ويتحقق ذلك من خلال الأركان الثلاثة التي تقوم عليها المؤسسة وهي: 1- الفكر القيادي 2- الأدب والفنون 3- المنح الثقافية والابتكار Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation (AHSF) was established in 1978 on the initiative of the Arab Bank. Its establishment aimed to create a center of knowledge and creativity in Jordan and the Arab World. Since its establishment, the foundation has supported knowledge, research and dialogue in the Middle East. The foundation was awarded the King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein Award for Excellence in recognition to its role in supporting culture, science and arts. AHSF strives to achieve a cultured and creative community (our vision), through investing in cultural and social innovation to positively impact the communities we serve (our mission). Our aim is to reach all sectors of the society: children, youth, parents, entrepreneurs, researchers, intellectuals, innovators, education and cultural entities, public and private sector institutions and civil society organizations. This is done through three main pillars: 1) Thought Leadership 2) Arts & Literature 3) Innovation.
