About Ability Matters Ohio
Ability Matters was created in collaboration with parents who believe their children should have the support and guidance they need to live, work and participate fully in their community now and in the future. Regardless of the abilities someone has, everyone has the ability to matter. We strive to ensure young adults with neurological disabilities live their best lives knowing that they matter and are an important part of their community. Our CEO, Kristyn Butler, PhD, received her PhD in Applied Behavior Analysis and Special Education from The Ohio State University. She has spent her career serving special needs students and their families in Central Ohio school districts and in the private sector, both at Oakstone and as Special Education Director for Dublin City Schools. The Ohio State University College of Education and Human Ecology recognized Dr. Butler with its Career Achievement Award in 2020 for her distinguished career in serving individuals with disabilities. Ability Matters now has over 300 highly trained staff members serving consumers and their families in education, housing, day services and intervention.
