About Aboriginal Legal Service of Western Australia
The Aboriginal Legal Service WA (ALSWA) is a not-for-profit independent government funded organisation working to provide high quality representation and assistance to the Aboriginal community in WA. Currently, we are the largest community based Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander legal organization in Australia. ALSWA plays a vital role within WA’s justice system, working in collaboration and partnership with communities and key government and non-government partners to rectify legal policies and practices that impact adversely and disproportionately on the legal and human rights of WA’s First Peoples. Our aim is to provide a quality legal service and education which contributes to the participation, empowerment and recognition to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples throughout WA.
