At ABOUT we bring new meaning to your basics. While our clothing feels as soft as a second skin, we are here to show the world the benefits of an ethically responsible and circular-focused brand. Born out of a strong desire to ignite a movement of conscious producers and consumers, we are looking for innovative ways to save finite virgin resources and create our timeless pieces from food industry waste. Every product we create is made by the hands of our local experts who have been perfecting their craft for decades. From knitting, dyeing and printing to sewing and packaging, every step of the process is executed under our 7-step quality check procedure with mindful care, all in-house, all under the same roof – just like the old days. Moreover, our factory is the first and only textile producer in the world to meet all of the Greenpeace environmental requirements, which embodies best practices in terms of fairness, transparency and zero use of toxic chemicals. Our production wastewater is as clean as the drinking water – how cool is that! While our principals are rooted in tradition, our approach is inspired by innovation. By processing food-waste and other biodegradable materials, we are committed to creating a new use for what was previously labeled unusable. Forty people across R&D, testing laboratories and quality assurance work to apply the latest textile innovations to our products. Our flagship is a sustainable soy fabric sourced from food waste, which is used to create extraordinarily soft, high-quality garments with a texture comparable to cashmere or silk.
