Our setup combines sponsored residential living with on-site owners, creating a structured group home experience. Our home is licensed as a 4-bed facility under DBHDS, ensuring quality care and support. Throughout the year, we host a variety of activities, including two major annual events: The Founders Day Festival in April and our highly anticipated Epic annual Halloween Party in October. These events feature entertainment such as stilt walkers, fire spinners, drag shows by Richmond's top performers, caricature artists, skits, vocal performances, and beloved characters from classic films, courtesy of Chesterfield Children’s Theater. In warmer months, we organize trips to Lake Gaston and various destinations along the Carolina and Virginia beaches. Holidays and birthdays are celebrated with enthusiasm, complete with elaborate decorations. For Halloween, our front yard transforms into a nightly "cemetery" adorned with over 75 skeletons, creating a unique experience from dusk until 8 PM. Abraxas residents also have access to our transportation agency, which partners with Modivcare to provide reliable transportation services for day support needs. We offer a 24-hour on-call nurse and collaborate closely with a long-term care pharmacy, ensuring access to a 24-hour on-call pharmacy service. In addition, we have established partnerships with several community agencies to offer in-home medical support during times of increased care needs, including Mobile Urgent Care services through Dispatch Health and mobile imaging services for X-rays, echocardiograms, or ultrasounds through Dynamic Mobile Imaging.
