About ABRIR Coalition
ABRIR Coalition is a community-led coalition whose purpose grew out of the need for poor and undocumented folks have in surviving and navigating oppressive systems found in the rural ETX area and beyond. ABRIR is not affiliated with any professional entity. We understand that the system(s) in the past and present will not meet our needs or save us. The word abrir (meaning to open) signals our yearning and responsibility to ensure that we open closed door for others. The coalition is invested in meeting the needs of our most vulnerable and marginalized neighbors. We want to creatively share and distribute resources for all. All while centering a space of healing and community building. We will always root for people and community, never the system(s) that profit off our labor and trauma.
