About Abseline

Abseline was formed by Mark Evans and Mary Fisher in early 2023 after 10 years of working together as a team at other landscape practices. LVIA – We provide landscape and visual impact assessments and appraisals for all types of development projects and have particular expertise in renewables, infrastructure, housing and commercial projects. When undertaking LVIA we advise on development design to shape proposals that are fitted to their receiving environment. We also undertake LVIA reviews – both as peer reviews where required for major developments, or to advise Local Planning Authorities on planning applications. TVIA – We provide townscape and visual impact assessments and appraisals for urban development projects and have particular expertise in relation to tall buildings. We have experience of working in cities with specific planning advice in relation to considering historic views and where built form needs to be considered in relation to adopted urban masterplans or strategies. Feasibility advice – The early stages of considering a site for development are important. We provide advice to assist developers in making decisions about whether and how a site could be developed. Landscape design – We provide outline design services and masterplanning advice to shape development that responds positively to its surroundings. We listen and bring together all of the environmental outcomes that need to be achieved to shape good development. Expert witness – Both Mark and Mary have expert witness experience, including the varied formats and requirements of the appeal, national development decision and tribunal processes in England, Scotland and Wales.
