Medical imaging devices have advanced in a lot of qualitative features. In the fields of training and diagnosis, the main problem is that the 3D visual data of pathological images is not utilizable in an optimal, proper, and concentrated way. The high volume of the visual data of 3D medical imaging makes limitations for using this valuable information. On the other hand, in the field of treatment, arthroscopy surgery as a minimally-invasive approach with patients benefit from faster recovery times, has a main drawback due to the visibility restriction of the surgery area through camera and monitor. Our proposed solutions for the two mentioned problems is a smart Augmented Reality (AR) system to display the visual data of 3D medical imaging systems in an optimal and concentrate manner. Our innovative display system combines pathological data with the corresponding visible data from the patient. The output images are displayed by AR glasses. The application of the present system is in the medical process of training, diagnosis, and treatment specifically in orthopedic and arthroscopic surgery which the intra body tissues and the surgical instruments can virtually be seen inside the body at the same time.
