About Acceler8 Education Group
The Accelerate Program’s mission is to teach the skills of today, to build the leaders of tomorrow. High school students who are considered at risk, develop positive relationships with mentors in law enforcement, often receiving guidance and structure at a critical time in their transition to adulthood. Accelerate Education Program leverages the shared enthusiasm for automobiles by youth and law enforcement officers to provide a common ground for students and mentors to bond. Students participate in classroom activities and hands-on auto repair and industry exploration. Classes are held throughout the LA area such as Petersen Automotive Museum and Galpin Auto Sport. They study car design and development processes and practice on actual project cars, learning about safe use of equipment, auto body repair and painting, wiring, proper tire changing and rotation and many other fundamental skills. They also receive training in career and life skills, including resume and interview skills, dress/image, team building, communication, online and in person.
