About Access Accelerated

Access Accelerated is an initiative that brings together leading biopharmaceutical and life science companies committed to tackling the growing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in low- and middle-income countries. Together with partners from across the global biopharmaceutical sector, multilateral organizations and non-governmental organizations, Access Accelerated works toward a future where no one dies prematurely from treatable, preventable diseases. Launched in 2017, the initiative works to identify and break down barriers to NCD prevention, treatment and care by uniting the efforts of the biopharmaceutical industry and applying the member company’s global reach and local expertise to address the NCD challenge. We believe in and work to support inclusive local and country-led engagement and ownership. Addressing the scale and complexity of the NCD challenge requires deeper and stronger collaboration, across all sectors. Through listening, learning and acting together, we believe we can co-create scalable and sustainable solutions to improve people’s health. Access Accelerated supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages (SDG 3) and effective global partnerships for sustainable development (SDG 17). Our work is in support of achieving the specific NCD target to reduce premature deaths related to NCDs by one-third by 2030 (SDG 3.4) Access Accelerated recognizes that only by putting the needs of people living with NCDs first and acting in collaboration with partners can the global community make measurable and sustainable progress against NCDs in developing countries.
