About Accounting Association at Stony Brook University

The Accounting Association at Stony Brook University takes a focused, unconventional approach. We don’t run weekly meetings or filler events instead, we concentrate on the things that actually help accounting students land internships. Our top priority is getting students into firm-hosted Summer Leadership Programs (SLPs), which are often overlooked despite being direct pipelines to internships. We’ve already seen success with students accepted into programs like the Baker Tilly Explorer Program. We also organize SBU’s national accounting case competition team, currently competing in the Crowe National Case Competition. This marks the first time SBU has participated in a national, accounting-focused case competition.
