About Achalekes GloBUNTU Books
In 2013 an Austrian publisher decided to not publish Beatrice Achaleke’s second book 7 days before the release and official launch date; Beatrice Achaleke decided to self-publish and the book launch was a big success with over 300 copies sold off the day of the launch of the book. In July 2015 she relocated from Austrian with two suitcases to South Africa with 1800 Euros in her pocket. In December 2016 she started her writing career. In March 2017 she founded GloBUNTU Books and launched the “Africa for smart kids” series with three books today December 2021 her Africa for smart kids series has 17 titles,15 of then have been approved for schools in Gauteng/South Africa. In addition to that, she has coached 15 kids and 6 adults since 2019 to write have had their open books published 14 of them are award winners. within 5 years, GloBUNTU Books has published over 52 books. Beatrice is the author of 23 books and 15 ebooks, many flashcards, posters, and other resources for kids, adults, businesses, and professionals. In 2019 Beatrice opened the doors of GloBUNTU Books to young black authors who have similar difficulties finding publishers for their works. Since then she has successfully coached several adults and 11 kids to write and have their own books published by GloBUNTU Books and the numbers are growing. GloBUNTU Books is a rapidly growing African-owned publishing company that aspires to make a visible contribution in the publishing landscape with a focus on books on African identity and legacy, written for global audiences by Africans in Africa and the diaspora. GloBUNTU Books strives to fill the gap in the book industry when it comes to African children books. What we do differently is that unlike many publishers we coach black kids to write for themselves, their peers, and even for adults. This comes with lots of advantages and benefits for our young authors and the world of literature as a whole. We are African identity and heritage-driven.
