About Acorn and Anchor Therapy Centre
"Welcome to Yourself" We use a relational approach and deeper therapy work to support neuroplasticity, and positive self-identity, and, to help relieve symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other challenges. We also utilize a unique *Brain Animals model. This model is designed to help all clients, at any age, and their families, to understand brain and body responses to danger (real or perceived) and share a universal language to support self-regulation and help manage big emotions. We focus on supporting neurodivergent individuals—especially those who are Gifted, Talented, and Intense-minded, (GTI-m), a non-pathologizing coin of phrase we use to describe people who are identified or identify themselves with Giftedness (in any domain*), Twice-Exceptional (2e), ADHD, ASD, C-PTSD, Anxiety and with existential-depression. That’s why we integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches, from IFS (Internal Family Systems) to CBT, DBT, and other trauma-informed methods.
