Acoustic and Engineering Consultants Ltd, AEC, is an independent acoustic consultancy, which was formed in 1992. Since that time the company has been responsible for a wide range of projects requiring a broad scope of acoustics input encompassing building, architectural, planning, environmental, vibration and industrial experience, including assessments for BREEAM and Building Control. AEC aims to provide practicable and cost effective acoustic design solutions and offers a flexible approach, working closely with design teams, and are able to provide a rapid response on any projects where deadlines are critical. AEC is a full member of the Association of Noise Consultants (ANC) and all technical staff are members of The Institute of Acoustics (IOA) and hold CSCS Cards. The company is accredited by The Association of Noise Consultants to undertake sound insulation testing in accordance with Approved Document E (ADE) to The Building Regulations 2000. Large projects AEC has provided acoustic advice and testing for include the Beetham Tower Manchester, several large projects at Lancaster University, the Free Trade Hall, Manchester, Ramada and Etap hotels, and Noise at Work assessments for Nissan UK.
