About ACT Pet Crisis Support
ACT Pet Crisis Support is available to disadvantaged pet owners in Canberra and the local region, including Queanbeyan. We also launched our Tiny Vet Clinic, a volunteer-run mobile vet clinic that visits various locations in the region to provide basic veterinary care to pet owners with a Healthcare Card. Unfortunately due to increased numbers of pets, vets are incredibly busy and many clinics have closed their books to new clients. This makes it harder than ever for low-income pet owners to access veterinary care. The Tiny Vet Clinic visits Oaks Estate, Ainslie Village and various other locations and is able to provide ear, skin and lump checks, arthritis treatment, blood and urine tests, vaccinations and microchipping. Consultations are free, but we ask pet owners to contribute towards medications (usually around $20 for each medication).
