About Action For ASD

Action for ASD is a charitable body for people affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders in East Lancashire. The organisation is based at the Autism Resource Centre (ARC), a specially designed facility in Burnley, England, UK which houses our soft play centre, bouncy castle, activity area, games consoles, internet area, resource library, offices. conference and meeting rooms. Our geographical coverage is East Lancashire, UK. The ARC is the only specialist provision in the area offering leisure and recreational opportunities for people with Autism Spectrum Disorders. From here, Action for ASD can offer on-site, specialist services and support to families and individuals affected by ASD. Action for ASD has been successful in developing a number of different services and projects and can now offer a comprehensive support framework from pre-diagnosis and beyond. The group has a strong membership from individuals with a diagnosis of ASD, their families, carers and members of the professional network. Objectives a) To relieve those persons who are diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorders by the provision of support, advice, information and assistance to those individuals with autistic spectrum disorders, their families and carers and associated professionals b) To increase public awareness regarding the difficulties and circumstances of people with autistic spectrum disorders and their families and carers and to encourage acceptance within the community
