About Active Africa

Active Africa offers luxury active travel experiences in Africa. We specialise in walking, biking and multi-active vacations in both mainstream and unusual locations. Our trips require no more than the basic skills to participate. We aim to make the outdoor experience accessible to all ages and tailor each trip to the requirements of our travellers. For the more intrepid traveller, we offer expedition grade trips aimed at high altitude and remote wilderness environments. Cultural and culinary experiences are an important part of any itinerary, and we strive to weave these into all programmes. We offer a range of popular, tried and tested itineraries that we are able to customise where necessary. All trips include some activity and can be adapted to focus on food and wine, safari or cultural experiences. Our first choice is always sustainability and we commit to using suppliers that prioritise responsible sourcing, fair trade and sustainability in their local operations. Most of our experiences are led by an experienced trip leader supported by local guides and services on the ground as necessary. Our trip leaders will often design and oversee the operation of a tour, ensuring continuity and a high level of service. Our intimate knowledge of the continent and wealth of contacts, gained through personal interaction over two decades, means we are able to offer unique and workable solutions to all adventures.
