About Active Hope Permaculture
Have you ever wondered what you could do to live a more sustainable lifestyle? Through permaculture design, I can help you grow your own food in a way that works together with nature and does not fight it with chemical pesticides. You can create spaces that are biodiverse, beautiful to look at and productive, where people in your family, your community or your workplace can connect with nature and learn from it. Through consultation sessions or in my designs, I offer solutions for: - transforming under-used spaces (lawns) into gardens that give you a diversity of fresh produce with zero food miles. The longest journey of your vegetables or fruit will be from your garden to your kitchen door. - creating food forests, food-growing systems that imitate the structure of a forest. Why plant just an apple tree, when you can add berries, perennial vegetables and herbs underneath it? - boosting the fertility of your soil naturally. Did you know that nitrogen and minerals can be added to the soil through growing certain plants? - recycling your waste and putting it to good use again. How about keeping some compost worms as your pets? They will eat up most of your food waste and turn it into fertiliser, which will help feed your soil. These are just a few of the ways in which I help people lead healthier, more sustainable lifestyles. If you are aware of the environmental crisis we are facing today and you are wondering what you can do to have a positive impact, why not start in your back garden, or on that patch of lawn in front of your workplace? Things might just ripple out from there.
