Pierre, who is a veteran entrepreneur of the first wave of online travel in the 1990's, founded the company in South Africa and Stellenbosch just as he did his previous global venture which offered large scale Internet distribution to the accommodation sector. Pierre understood that activities, attractions and tours are at the core of a travelers’ experience. The lack of an online reservations, management and distribution solution in that sector therefore needed to be addressed urgently. Being well connected to many tours and activity business owners, Pierre and his team were able to solve for the industry working with the industry. “Activitar is not just a tech provider to the industry, we are a true industry partner, recognised as such by our customers and we will continue forward in this role,” says Pierre. Today Activitar has headquarters in Cape Town, South Africa and remote offices in Johannesburg and Zanzibar.
