Adaptive Equipment & Caregiving Corner provides online education and instruction for caregivers and individuals to improve safety and function during activities of daily living. Our mission is to enhance continuity of care from healthcare facility to home, increase client and caregiver safety during daily care and improve and maintain the client’s optimal level of functional independence. Adaptive Equipment & Caregiving Corner was founded in 2015 by Cindy Hardin-Weiss, PT and Christina Hardin-Weiss, ST. As therapists, we see seniors struggling every day to care for themselves. Most of our clients have the same goal and that is to remain as independent as possible in their home. Many times, this goal can be achieved by simply having the right tools. As most therapists are aware, there are catalogs FULL of adaptive equipment available to assist their clients with just about any need. However, many seniors, including their caregivers are NOT aware and even more frightening, do not know how to use the equipment safely. Our goal is to be a trusted resource for individuals looking for information regarding adaptive equipment and how to use it safely to enhance senior’s ability to age in place. Our video library includes: A "Take Care 2 Care"™️ caregiver series, a Pre/Post Total Knee Replacement Surgery Care series, and a Pre/Post Total Hip Replacement Surgery Care series. In fact, HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial hospital in Effingham, Illinois uses our video library to enhance their ortho patient training and education.
