Whether you were born with a disability or acquired one as a result of a life-changing injury, our dedicated team will enable you to achieve incredible feats of endurance and resilience. Along the way, we will create a community of like-minded individuals who empower each other to challenge social norms and redefine what many think possible for individuals with disabilities. Our Story: In the summer of 2016, Darren Edwards experienced a life-altering Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) during a near-fatal climbing accident, rendering him paralyzed from the chest down. Despite this profound challenge, Darren, an avid climber, mountaineer, and former soldier, refused to let his disability extinguish his passion for adventure. Supported by a proactive network of friends and family, he embarked on a journey to redefine his limits, exploring new avenues of exploration on water, wheels, and skis. Since that pivotal moment, Darren has led injured and wounded veterans on a kayaking expedition from Land’s End to John O’ Groats, completed seven marathons in seven days across seven continents on a handbike, rowed across the English Channel, and traversed Europe’s largest icecap on a sit-ski as part of the first all-disabled team to accomplish this daring feat. In the summer of 2023, Darren, alongside his close friend Nick Morrall, united their passions and experiences to establish Adaptive Expeditions. Their vision was to provide individuals with disabilities the same opportunities, support, and encouragement to push their boundaries and discover their newfound potential.
