Owner, Peter Meadowcroft saw the need for AutoCAD programming and customization when using AutoCAD for the first time in the 1980's. His first CAD drawings were produced with AutoCAD Version 1.4 on an IBM pc with a 40Mb hard drive, and an orange on black crt video screen. At the time, on a reasonable sized drawing, executing a "zoom all" command would require a coffee refill and a walk around the block. How things have changed. If now we have to wait more than two seconds for any computer function it seems like forever. Having seen the need for programming, he dove straight in, and never stopped. "Programming AutoCAD was and still is greatly satisfying. I often spent way too much time in front of a computer screen, but the results were so rewarding, even with bleary eyes. It became my passion to develop ultra user friendly applications, with the ability to prevent user errors and greatly increase productivity while maintaining tight control of data specifications. There is always the opportunity to add and interpret extended entity data to AutoCAD objects and linking to external databases, making for really efficient data integrity." Peter was integral in developing many commercial products over the years and set up programming offices in New Delhi, India and Shenzhen, China, where he oversaw the conversion of complex programs from Visual Lisp to C++ and other languages. It wasn't always just AutoCAD programming but also several years' involvement with CAD-CAM and the production of complicated 3d modelling and CNC cutting of some very intricate designs.
