About Adecyn Homes

We are a family orientated organisation, who initially started off as foster carers in 2004. During a decade of fostering, we have seen faults in the existing care system where the well-being of children and young people was not prioritised. After discussing this as a family and receiving the approval from council officials, we decided that opening a residential home for children and young people was a way we could make a greater change in a system that needed reforming. Initially called Acorn Homes our residential journey began in 2010. Spanning a 13 year journey, Acorn Homes prided itself on giving children and young people the care that they deserve. After careful consideration, we decided to re-brand Acorn Homes to Adecyn Homes in 2018. Adecyn Homes provides a caring and nurturing environment for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. We also accommodate children and young people that have a diagnosis of mild learning difficulties such as ADHD and Autism. This is being achieved by empowering and enabling effective staff working practice through ongoing training, open communication channels, personal development plan and collegiate support.
