About Adept Computer Support Pty
Founded by Martin Neville of Adept Computer Support Ltd (UK) and Ed Henry of Sage Australia Pty Ltd (Australia) to market Adept Sage 50 Additions in Australia, published by Adept Computer Support Ltd. When it was announced in 2006 that Sage UK would no longer supply any Sage 50 software other than the UK version they realised that Sage 50 would not be truly viable in Australia without a BAS module which users had become accustomed to in earlier Australian modified versions. They set about designing and Martin writing the Adept Tax Addition. This was tested in early 2007 and was a finalist in the Sage UK Innovation of the Year Awards for that year. It was designed in such a way that it was easily adapted to the NZ market to produce a GST return where it is now being sold. In late 2007 Adept Computer Support Pty Ltd formed a joint venture with Sybiz Software to distribute the Sage 50 product in Australia and New Zealand incorporating the Adept Tax. In November of 2008 a subsidiary Adept Distribution Ltd was formed to handle the distribution of Sage 50 specifically in NZ and the NZ Depreciation module was added for that market. A full suite of Adept Sage 50 Additions is available to enhance the functionality of Sage 50 across a wide range of industries.
