About Adirondack Low Peaks and Lands

Founded in May of 2015 by Outdoor Photographer/Writer and Adirondack native Charles Henry Eldridge, Adirondack Low Peaks and Lands’ main goal is highlighting the people, businesses and areas under 4,000 ft. of the Adirondack State Park of Northern New York, including its Foothills. Many times the smaller mountains and lowlands of the Adirondacks are overshadowed by its High Peaks Region. Not to mention how over-crowded they have become, and the issues they're facing because of it! One of the goals of ALPL is to relieve some of that pressure, by offering alternatives. Also, not everyone is capable of hiking a High Peak, and there are so many other beautiful mtns. and lowland areas of the park to explore! Folks that are not capable of ascending higher peaks and those who have children, are often looking for places, such as these, to introduce their kids to the wonderful world of Nature! These places are the best to start them off; gaining balance and stamina, as well as building the muscles and experience that will be needed for future adventures. Adirondack Low Peaks and Lands is not only about hiking either. It is also about other activities that we enjoy in the lowlands, such as camping, canoeing, kayaking, SUP (Stand Up Paddling), biking, festivals, fairs, concerts, galleries, museums, etc...
