About Adrenal Insufficiency United
Adrenal Insufficiency United is a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of those with Adrenal Insufficiency. AIU was founded by affected adults and family members and operates Nationwide. AIU Mission Statement Adrenal Insufficiency United is committed to enhancing the lives and health of our friends and family who suffer from Adrenal Insufficiency. We will do this by supporting each other, raising awareness, working together with doctor's to individualize care, collaborating with organizations working with AI individuals, and raising funding for desperately needed research. We will strive to have better understandings of the medicines used to treat adrenal insufficiency and how they will best serve each individual. We will challenge doctors to link us with other hormonal diseases (like diabetes) so that we all may benefit from the technology, research, funding, and understanding behind them. We expect and demand fair treatment in the health care industry, government, and schools and will fight for our loved ones until they get it. We look forward to a time when Adrenal Insufficiency is well known and Exemplary Care is the norm. We will stand strong in our beliefs and be our own advocates; to learn, read and educate ourselves so that we are no longer Sheep but Shepherds.
