It's a passion project that all started with helping a friend who I’d known for 14 years at the time. I had helped him (and many other financial advisors) over the years with various struggles, usually related to lack-of-growth, assistance with speaking engagements, or problems with client engagement and lead generation. This time, however, he reached out because he was at the end of his rope, tired of stagnant growth, exhausted from the daily grind, and fed up with trying different tactics and strategies that simply weren’t working. He asked if I would essentially open up my business and advise him on how we do what we do… everything from the second we walk in the front door to locking up and heading home for the day. So, over the next 14 weeks (and 27 total hours), I taught him virtually everything we did in our advisory practice, and by the end of that three-month period, he had already brought in $2.1MM in new AUM, had another $1.8MM signed and on the way, and he’d generated an additional $8MM in committed assets with another $11.9MM in his pipeline. I had always dreamt of starting a financial advisor consulting firm at (or close to) retirement as a means to keep me busy when I had exited my advisory practice, but after going through this process, it was clear to me that I had already built it – so why not start now?!
