About Advocacy Safeguards
Welcome to Advocacy Safeguards - I am an experienced IMHA and IMCA who is currently supporting organisations with spot purchase Paid RPR referrals. The second part of the service is branching out in the local area supporting vulnerable children and young people. It’s an Independent Advocacy and Wellbeing service for children at risk of exclusion or currently on exclusion from mainstream school. This Outreach Service is to safeguard a child at the earliest stages of behavioural concerns. Safeguarding is everybody's responsibility. Referring to the service would give the child the additional support and resources needed at the earliest opportunity. This safe and flexible response service will focus on the child's current circumstances by actively listening to their needs, assess the mental wellbeing and aim is to safeguard the pupil within their school environment. All children have the right to Independent Advocacy support which is in line with statutory requirements. An advocate would attend meetings and empower the child to speak about concerns. They will also ensure the child has a greater understanding of the behavioural policies in place. Advocacy Safeguards will help a pupil to understand the process of the school's behavioural policy. Using qualified Mental Health Advocacy experience alongside Counselling skills, this service will adapt to the needs of the child and give them beneficial tools to speak up about any issues. By using Mental Health assessments alongside a person-centred approach the child’s wellbeing is monitored at this early stage by an Independent Practitioner. If you have concerns about a particular child and live in the Greater Manchester or surrounding areas feel free to contact the service via email or telephone and we can arrange for a visit to the school or the child's home.
